Lunch was @ My Vegetarian way(golden shoe carpk )
There are lots of food being offered @ the food centre... fish soup, chicken rice...etc. This little stall offers organic vegetarian which are different from the rest.
The stall is small. They have a standard menu of the day, brown rice sets with 3 vegetables. The brown rice comes with a tiny serving of mashed pumkin with brocolli, caixin and curry vegetables. They have pre-made the vegetables and serve it on the plate to the customers. The servings are small but the rice comes in a big bowl. At $4, i think this is the best that they can offer.
The vegetables were too bland. I believe that the stall-owner is trying to cut back the salt but it's tasteless. Even the curry taste very mild to me.
Overall, come here for a cheap and quick fix.

Wen to ang mo kio today.
Objective is to try the popular yong tau foo there.
I always saw a long q in this stall and thus i want to give it a try.
I q for 20mins before i can enjoy this yong tau foo.
The name of the stall- Xi Xiang feng
You would have to pick and choose the items before lining up to wait for ur food.
I had mostly veggies and a few fishballs.
The lady boss actually prepares the food by herself so pls be patient while waiting for the food. I had my yong tau foo in the dry version, mixed with chilli and sweet sauce and topped with scallions and sesame seeds. The sauce is good and the soup is amazing... yellow beans and ikan billis is used to prepare this soup. The chilli is siok! However, i dun think they made the fishball themselves as it taste a little fishy. The wining factor lies in the soup and the chilli. It was good but not fantastic.

I hate mondays... why?
Many shops choose to have their off days on monday.
I have been CRAVING yong tau foo these days. It so happens that the popular ytf stalls are located in chinatown area(ppl's pk fd ctr & chinatown fd ctr). I walked to ppl's pk fd ctr and found that the ytf stall that i wanted to patronise frm was closed. The fd ctr itself was rather quiet as many other stalls were closed too.
Under the warm weather, i source for another place for lunch. I walk to far east square, where most eatery are present.
I saw Tossz. This is a small cafe selling sandwiches and salads for mostly takeaways.
It is rather a cosy cafe and most customers here prefer to have their food taken away. I wanted a nice and simple salad. First, choose the salad base among romaine lettuce, mesclun or ice-berg. Next, try from a range of food you want to top it off (min 5 tossz-in). Finally, select the dressing and the staff would tossz it well for you. I had the mesclun as salad base, oions, tomatoes, mozarella cheese and tuna sliced carrots and honey mustard vinegarette as dressing. The portion was so huge, all for $8.50,extra $0.20 for take-away.
The salad leaves were crunchy. The ingredients were fresh and it was well-tossz. Salad is not longer seen as boring as you can choose to create your own salad.
After lunch, i went to the lib. I have been reading a magazine '' Appetites'' Wine, food and luxury. This is a well-written magazine. I discovered and learnt alot abt the f&b industry frm reading this bk. Strongly recommended.

Went to plaza singapura for mooncake fair.
The fair wasnt as grand as the one @ ngee ann city.
Neverthless, i still bought the mixed nut with ham frm Tak chong guo($33.60 for 4pcs)
Lunch was @ Classic Lau Difang (parkmall).
This vegetarian resturant moved to the basement of park mall.
I think location wasnt that ideal and thus it has very few customers.
There is a promotion during lunch hr(11pm-2pm).There is a discount on the food.
I ordered the brown rice with mixed vegetables ($4.80). The staff told me that i would get everything exactly frm the picture shown. However, when the dish arrived, i was disappointed! There were only brocolli with some mushrms and few strands of carrots, accompanied by a bowl of brown rice. I look at the picture again, it shows some salad veggies but was not served to me. I did not want to bring this up to the staff and ate the food.
The brocolli was quite ok, nothing special. The brown rice was horrible! The texture is so hard & diffcult to chew. I can guarantee that they did not add enough water. Brown rice are supposed to be chewy and grainy in texture and definately not hard. I feedback to the owner and he told me they mixed the white rice and red rice by themselves and instruct the kitchen to take notice of the rice served. Well, will they re-cook the rice again? I doubt so.
Svc is friendly here but the food... failed.
After lunch, i went to isetan to get some jap stuffs. I was quite disappointed as the pork bely frm japan is not available. I think i shall get it on monday(last day)

Bought some crunchy veggies wantons frm ''The Wonton story'' frm bugis junction.
They are priced between $4.60- $7.00 for 5 wantons. There are several fillings for u to choose frm- fish with miso, crunchy veggies, mushrms...etc.
I feel that the wanton is quite good. The skin wasnt very thick and is quite smooth. The fillings consist of some veggies and minced pork. They were quite good but the filling is too little.
Lunch was @ Yogi house(Fu lu shou complex). It's located @ the 2nd level, admist the crowd. The whole building seems to be selling ''buddha items'' and foot reflexology & it's kinda weird to have an organic food outlet here. Neverthless, there are still countless of customers who would still come here to get organic stuffs n enjoy organic food.
The menu is listed on a board, it's not very extenisve, probably 7-8 dishes only. I had the brown rice set ($5.50) which consists of stir-fried kailan, stir-fried gourd and '' tomato egg''. I requested for the stir-fried gourd to be changed to a small salad. (im a salad person)
The serving was huge for one person. The kailan taste quite bland so i eat it with their homemade chilli. The salad that i opted for consist of only sliced cucumbers and carrots. The cucumber slices were too thick and the sauce is a little milky n tasteless. The ''tomato egg'' is actually made frm tau-kee and tomatoes. They were soft and taste like the real egg.
Well, i didnt really like the food here as i feel that it is too bland for my liking. Perhaps those who are used to/prefer such taste can try it. Svc is friendly here, feel free to approach them if u need any help.
After my lunch, i shopped ard, bought 2 tops frm the tweety shop and walked to meidiya supermkt to get some stuffs.

Lunch was @ Yes F&B vegetarian restaurant(geylang).
There are several yes f&b trading in sp mainly selling breads & organic products.
The main restuarant is situated right in geylang, beside the yes f&b bakery.
The restaurant uses 2 colours- white and green as it symbolises nature and purity.
They have special menu of the day which is only available on mon, wed & fri.
Menu is pretty simple- Appetitizers, rice, salads and beverage. The popular items here are the pocket salad, almond sauce noodles, stonepot rice and the baked cheese rice. All the rice used is the organic brown rice so therefore you will get baked cheese brown rice/ spaghetti.
A special dish that i have ordered : The stonepot rice while is the ''bimbimbap'' in korean cuisine. Their version is different- Brown rice, veggies, mushrms and pumpkin. I substitute the pumpkin for some side salad. The serving is quite huge for one person. The mushrm were well- braised, veggies were crunchy and i like the sauce that is used for the rice (not salty).
Svc here is quite friendly. Price are resonable as well. Do drop by if you are looking for vegetarian food in geylang area.

Lunch was @ The whole earth (peck seah st)
I walked from chinatown to peck seah st and this place is really diffcult to locate.
I had to walk frm craig rd down duxton rd and asked a few ppl(whom are not sure too). I was abt to give up finding and when i turn my back, i saw ''THE WHOLE EARTH''. Im glad i found it and my stomach is calling for food.
The shop looks very clean and simple- with the sighboard '' The Whole earth''. It was just a walking distance away frm T.Pagar Mrt station but i think the location is not very ideal. They have moved frm Geylang to this present location.
They are the first thai-peranakan vegetarian restuarant in sp. What is offered are are some of the thai and peranakan dishes which u can find in that& peranakan restaurant. They substitute the meat with tofu, mushrooms & veggies.
Menu isnt very extensive- mushrm, veg, starters, rice and beverage.
The 2 salads which i intended to order is not available so i had the thai lettuce roll and a bowl of brown rice. The staff recommended me the stir-fried brocolli with oyster mushrms. However, i do not really like brocolli .
Pickles were served and the food arrive shortly. It consists of sweet ginger, sambal belanchan chilli and seaweed crisp. The balachan is very pungent and a little spicy. I like this! They made this themselves and it's not available for sale. Seaweed crisp is crispy. It is actually beancurd stick and seaweed and then fried.
The brown rice has a very good texture. It wasnt mushy and i can easily pick out the different grains. The thai lettuce roll consists of some tomatoes slices, lettuce leaves and a ''paste'' made frm tofu, chilli and some veggies. The use of different spices in this'' paste'' highly demonstrate the thai culture here. You would have to wrap the paste and tomatoes together with the lettuce leaves, otherwise, it will taste a little salty. I like this dish as it shows the creative-ness of the chef and it is very delicious. The serving is a little small though.
Svc here is very friendly and according to the staff, naive company @ east coast rd actually belongs to the same company.
* Fruit juices- 50% off every tues& wed.

Went to geylang today for lunch.
Geylang is a foodie haven. There are so many choices for food there.
I went there quite early and jus walked ard.
I found the restuaurant yes natural F&B. It was still closed when i reached there.
Hence, i decided to walk ard the vicinity. I discovered another vegetarian restuarant- Ci Hang chinese and western vegetarian restaurant. I went in to take a look. The lady attended to me politely and introduced some food to me. I was hesistating of which resturant to have my lunch. Finally i made a decision. Ci Hang vegetarian resturant is closed on fri and i would try it today and make a trp to yes f&b on fri instead.
The interior is quite small and air-conditioned. They sell various organic products such as vinegar, rice, vegetarian sauce, crackers...etc. The menu is printed on a pc of paper and a menu booklet iteself. You just have to tick the food that you want to order and give it to the person. Everything looks so tempting and i decided to tried the brown rice set ($5.50) and a glass of plum juice with green tea ($2.80).
Brown rice set include brown rice and 3 types of veggies of the day. For today, it is stew lack fungus, mustard greens with mushrms and kailan, Soup- lotus soup.
I requested for the black fungus to be changed to salad greens as i do not like black fungus. The brown is a little soft and the veggies remains crispy even after stewing. The veggies were cooked till jus perfect.
Plum juice with green tea is good! It taste a little sour but i cant taste any green tea in it.
Business is quite good here, especially during lunch hrs. They offer quality vegetarian food at affordable prices and the svc is really good here. Even ang mohs came here for their food!
