A day with Hanthi

A day out with hanthi. She is starting her I.A tmr so we are going to spend some time together. I wonder when will be the next time we will get to go out together agian. We would be busy for our I.A...

Since she is a burmese, i would like to try some myammar dishes. The only myammar restaurant in singapore is Inle Myammar Restaurant. I chose the one @ Marina Square as it is more popular(thx to HGW). We had a hard time finding the restaurant as marina square is quite big and lots of restuarants are located @ level . Somehow, we managed to find the restaurant after asking around.

The brightly-coloured signboard caught my attention. It wasnt very busy during lunch hr (12pm). Hanthi & I ordered :

1X butter rice with curry chicken
1X glass noodle salad
1X pennywort salad
1X roselle leaves
1X semolina cake(dessert)

Glass noodle salad( vemicelli with prawns and squid). The smooth and silky vemicelli is very smooth and i can just swallow it. 2 prawns being served but it's crunchy. From the first try, it was...sour. I think they used lemon juice or something. It's spicy plus sour = siok!

Pennywort salad

My favourite dish of this meal is the pennywort salad
Wat is pennywort? It's not found in singapore and imported from myammar. The leaves are good for the eyes-Especially when i used the laptop for long period of time. It has pennywort leaves, tomatoes, cabbage, onions and some crunchy onion bits mixed in a special sauce. I request for the omission of peanuts(allergic). The sauce is quite special and it goes well with the mixture of ingredients.

Roselle leaves

Stir-fried roselle leaves with chilli. The amount of oil that is being used is enough to choke your blood vessels. The leaves has a sourish taste and that is the distinctive taste of roselle leaves. The first taste- oily,sourish plus a little salty. Towards the end, it was quite alright. I think it's best served with rice.

Semolina cake

A burmese favourite dish for breakfast. I didnt try it but according to my friend, it is a sweet cake that is made frm semolina flour(it's quite heavy).

Hanthu offered to foot for the bill. She wanted to treat me... thks anyway. I will be the host the next time. We shopped ard marina square... bought lots of cosmetic frm sasa and we walked to suntec. We were so tired and decided to go home. We parted ways and i think i will ask her out when she is having her off day. We would be going to arab st to search for masks for our party!!!
